The NeedSince 2020 and the beginning of the pandemic, board game popularity has continued to skyrocket. The Hobby Gaming scene of enthusiast games is rapidly becoming a major entertainment industry reaching into everything from content creation to pop culture. The SolutionTo address this rapidly growing market ImBoard matches Hobby Gamers with shared interests together to share the games they love as well as providing safe spaces to play through partnerships with local game stores.
This project was informed by user research of board game enthusiasts. Individuals were interviewed about the issues they faced in the hobby, what kinds of games they played, and who they played them with. I also collaborated with local gaming stores including PunkOuterGames and Gamesville Tabletop to better understand the needs of local business and their customers.
